Mother's Day is just around the corner! And this year is different. This year you might not be able to take your wife or mom out to a fancy lunch as a Mother's Day Gift.
I also feel like this year, more than ever, moms need to feel appreciated. Many moms have been stuck at home with their children since mid March with very few breaks. If you are able, maybe use this time to make the mother in your life feel loved and special.
I am going to list out some gift ideas to help you out :)
1. Digitally Created Portraits
Of course my first idea is my new "limited edition" product :) Since I am currently not able to hold family photo sessions in the Fort Worth area I am offering these Digitally Created Portraits. They are lovely and personalized.
2. Beloved Paper's art work
My friend, Sarah, at Beloved Paper has a new "Oh Mama" collection that would be perfect for a new first time mama. Go check her art work out!
She also creates these awesome custom portrait. She made this one for my family and I love it.
3. Night Away
How nice would a night alone at a hotel be for a mommy of littles? Right now a baby sitter might not be an option. A date night probably has to wait a little while. So you tell her to pick a night to go and stay at a nice local hotel for the night. She can watch her favorite chick flicks on TV and sleep in. Sounds lovely doesn't it :)
4. Future Photo Session
Again, I am a Fort Worth photographer so of course photo sessions are on my mind. We will eventually be able to hold Fort Worth area photo sessions again. A mommy would love for this to be her husband's idea instead of her idea every time. Mommies love updated pictures of their families and babies. Schedule a family photo session for early Summer and decorate your home with love. (We may even be able to hold sessions again as early as May! I am so excited!)
5. Sleep Consultation
What is better than one night sleep? Many nights in a row of good sleep! You can hire a sleep consultant to help get sleep training advice for your kiddo.
I actually have two sleep consultant friends so I am going to list them both here for you :)
Melina Moses is a friend of mine and is a consultant with Sleep Wise.
Also, Ashley Olson with Heaven Sent Sleep is local to the Fort Worth area and can help you with you baby sleep questions.
6. Fun Monthly Membership
There are so many fun monthly membership options out there. Are you gonna judge me if I tell you that I have only personally tried one? I have an Ipsy membership and it is probably one of the cheaper memberships out there at about $12 a month. You receive a cute makeup bag and 5 trial (or some full size) makeup products.
Some others that I have heard of that sound work trying out are: FabFitFun, Stitch Fix, Birchbox, BOTM, and Rocksbox.
These are fun gifts that can keep on giving for months to come :)
7. I Got It
This one is especially perfect if the virus has put your family in a financial bind. You can still make her feel special. Give her a day of saying "I got it". When the baby wakes up in the morning say "I got it" and let her sleep in. When it is time to cook a meal say "I got it" and cook or bring in dinner. And then when it is time for dishes say "I got it." On Mother's Day, one thing many moms crave is some type of a break from the normal daily tasks. If you can find a way to give her a break she will feel special.
8. Get her what she wants :)
Another option is to pay attention to things she mentions that she might want. She might mention that her sunglasses are scratched and needs new glasses. She might mention that she needs new make up or wants shoes. Listen to her and take note of the things that she says through out the day for little hints.
Or, if you are not worried about a surprise gift, just ask her what she wants or let her buy herself something with zero guilt. This is something I regularly like to do for my birthday. I like to have the freedom to buy myself stuff with out feeling guilty about spending money.
